Ethiopia’s macroeconomic indicators sound- PM Abiy

  • The just concluded fiscal year report indicated that Ethiopia has registered better performance in most of the macroeconomic indicators, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said.

The just concluded fiscal year report indicated that Ethiopia has registered better performance in most of the macroeconomic indicators, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said. The macroeconomic committee that reviewed the economic performance of the year, the PM said has highlighted the remarkable export performance during the past year such as better FDI flow, drop in inflation in the past two months, remittance and so on.

Planning and Development Minister, Fitsum Assefa who presented the economic performance report said that export earnings during the period crossed 4.1 billion USD while the remittance flow was over 5 billion USD in the period. The better performance of the economy also got translated into employment generation. She said that more than 2.3 million citizens got job opportunities in the concluded fiscal year.
