Morocco’s aerospace industry is expected to get a boost with the latest investment announcement by Collins aerospace. The company has signed a deal with Morocco’s industry ministry to build an ecosystem benefiting from an already existing platform. It will establish a network of suppliers in the country that will make wire harnesses, fuselage, and wing and engine parts.

The deal was signed by Minister Mezzour on the sidelines of Farnborough Airshow and is expected to generate an additional 1 billion dollars in the Moroccan aerospace sector.

Morocco’s exports from the aerospace sector have been steadily growing. Until May this year, the exports hit 877 million dollars, recording a growth of 61% from last year revealed, according to the Aerospace Ministry. About 140 companies are already manufacturing aerospace parts that represent 43% of an airplane.

Efforts are also on to add the cabin interior industry to the list of supplies that global airlines can source from Morocco. Towards this end, an agreement was signed with Gal aerospace to set up a cabin interior plant in Morocco at a total investment of 12 million dollars.
