Prince Sultan Khalil Ibrahim Albalishi, the billionaire founder and chief executive officer of Dubai-based Rind Properties is upbeat about clinching deals in Zimbabwe’s real estate and aviation sectors. He made a recent visit to Harare to meet Zimbabwean authorities. Albalishi, a member of UAE’s ultra-rich royal family having oil interests, has already established a real estate empire with a footprint in major global markets.
Albalishi had options to visit Kenya and South Africa. But he chose Zimbabwe fully aware of its potential. Albalishi’s Ring Properties has business interests in several global markets, including in France, the United States of America, Lebanon, Kuwait, Algeria, Libya, and Britain.
Several companies from Dubai have recently started focussing on Zimbabwe in various verticals, encouraged by improved access. Airlines including Emirates launched flights into Harare and other destinations. Zimbabwe is keen to establish stronger diplomatic and trade links between various countries, particularly Dubai. The bilateral trade between Zimbabwe and Dubai has increased significantly in the past ten years. Albwardy Investments, 2020 took full control of Meikles Hotel investing US$20 million to run the iconic facility.
