A Substantial surge in CIVID -19 cases in South Africa has got the authorities worried on the possibility of a fifth wave for the country. On Monday, April 25th, 2022 South Africa recorded over 3,000 new cases in a 24-hour period. According to experts, it is not clear yet whether the Omicron variant BA2 is being replaced by a different sub variant .It was reported that resurgence may be due to the onset of winter months. So far clusters like old-age homes, schools, et cetera, have not shown that resurgence.
