Amr Mahfouz, CEO of Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) met with a delegation of French investors in the IT sector recently in Cairo and discussed the possibility of upping investments in the North African country.
The French delegation was led by Regis Monfront, head of the French side in the Egyptian-French Business Council and member of the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF). Representatives of French companies like Valeo, Orange, IDEMIA, ATOS and Alstom were present during the meeting.
The meeting, held to coincide with Egyptian-French Business Council talks, tackled available opportunities in the fields of crowdsourcing, cross-border services, artificial intelligence, digital capacity-building and smart cities. The Egyptian minister also briefed the visiting delegation of ITIDA’s new incentives to attract further investments and encourage the existing companies to expand their business.

Regis Monfront said France looked forward to establishing further business partnerships with Egypt that plays a vital part in the growth of the IT industry in the Middle East and North Africa.
