UAE keen to boost cooperation with Morocco

·       The UAE and Morocco are exploring possibilities for joint industrial projects and expansion of bilateral trade. The need to push for investments in the field of renewable energy, as well as in oil and gas capacity to avoid supply and demand disruptions was highlighted

 

The UAE and Morocco are exploring possibilities for joint industrial projects and expansion of bilateral trade. Speaking at an energy conference in Rabat on March 14th, UAE industry minister and ADNOC chief Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber stated that there was good scope for bolstering cooperation in the area of energy transition. UAE’s investment in Morocco currently include energy transition, tourism and industry. The UAE was the guest of honor at the 15 conference on energy transition in MENA region held in Rabat.

The Minister stressed Al Jaber held talks with head of the Moroccan government Aziz Akhannouch on economic and industrial cooperation and also met Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita and Moroccan minister of industry and trade Ryad Mezzour. A decision was taken to create a joint task force entrusted with exploring potential areas of cooperation between the two countries.

. The conference reviewed the outlook for Morocco’s energy security, the push to increase the share of renewables and the outlook for domestic gas and hydrogen output.
