Morocco and Burkina Faso to strengthen bilateral ties

· The Foreign Ministers of Morocco and Burkina Faso, Nasser Bourita and Hadizatou Rosine Sori-Coulibaly, have renewed the commitment on both sides to deepen developing multi-dimensional cooperation at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.

· A press release from Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Morocco and Burkina Faso have agreed to extend their cooperation to new areas of mutual interest, including the fight against terrorism and radicalism and the implementation of economic, technical-scientific, and cultural projects.

The Foreign Ministers of Morocco and Burkina Faso, Nasser Bourita and Hadizatou Rosine Sori-Coulibaly, have renewed the commitment on both sides to deepen and develop multi-dimensional cooperation at the bilateral, regional, and international levels.

A press release from Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Morocco and Burkina Faso have agreed to extend their cooperation to new areas of mutual interest, including the fight against terrorism and radicalism and the implementation of economic, technical-scientific, and cultural projects.

The bilateral relations between both countries encompass sectors of agriculture, trade, mining, energy, science, and technology. In the education sector, Morocco extends annual scholarships for Burkina students in Moroccan universities and higher education and vocational training institutions. The visa exemption agreement signed in Oct 2020 has facilitated trade and mobility, of the nationals of Moroccan and Burkina Faso. Morocco exports to Burkina Faso refined petroleum insulated wire and mineral, chemical fertilizers etc. The major Burkina exports to Morocco include tropical fruits and non-retailed pure cotton yarn.
