After being approved by the Egyptian Drug Authority, Kazakhstan will supply Egypt with 5 million doses of its locally made QazVac Corona Vaccine. This emerged during the recent meeting between the Acting Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Egypt Kairat Lama Sharif. The minister has agreed to initiate the process of the registration of the Kazakh vaccine “QazVac”. The minister assured that the procedures for approval and registration of the QazVac vaccine in Egypt would soon begin. The vaccine would undergo the necessary analyses in the laboratories of the Egyptian Drug Authority to ensure its safety and effectiveness before it is approved.
The discussions among other things, also explored the potential for promoting cooperation between both countries to manufacture Covid-19 vaccines. Lauding the strong ties between Egypt and Kazakhstan during their meeting, the minister called for stronger cooperation in the medical field to make use of expertise and human cadres in this domain. The two sides explored two-way cooperation in manufacturing COVID-19 vaccines, through Egyptian vaccine producer Vacsera and the Medical Research Center in Kazakhstan, as well as cooperation in the medical field at large. The meeting also reviewed travel safety and movement between Egypt and Kazakhstan, as well as the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates. Both sides agreed to promote bilateral ties.
