AFDB allocates €104 million to Tunisia

  • Road Infrastructure Modernization Program (PMIR II) of Tunisia has been allocated €104 million by the African Development Bank (AfDB) for the implementation of its 2nd phase.
  •  Announcing this through a Press release, AFDB said that the program will establish an efficient and sustainable transport system that will enhance intra- and inter-regional trade.
  •  PMIR II is part of the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy 2013-2022, aiming at laying the foundations for sustainable and inclusive growth on the continent.

Road Infrastructure Modernization Program (PMIR II) of Tunisia has been allocated €104 million by the African Development Bank (AfDB)  for the implementation of its 2nd phase.  Announcing this through a Press release, AFDB said that the program will establish an efficient and sustainable transport system that will enhance intra- and inter-regional trade. PMIR II is part of the Bank’s Ten-Year Strategy 2013-2022, aiming at laying the foundations for sustainable and inclusive growth on the continent.

PMIR II will improve accessibility to Tunisia’s priority regions and main development centres and rehabilitate and upgrade over 230 kilometres of roads in  Gafsa, Kairouan, Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid and Siliana. Additionally, it will also support maintenance of 1,000 kilometers of roads and the development of a 2×2 lane road on the RN2 linking Enfidha to Kairouan.
