Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al Mashat referred to the pivotal role of French businesspersons in promoting trade and investment relations between Egypt and France. She stressed this point at her meeting with  Regional Director for the French Development Agency (AFD) in East Africa, Christian Yoka.

Al Mashat congratulated Yoka and AFD on the 80th anniversary of the agency’s founding and the role played by the agency in Egypt’s development efforts. as well as their 15 years of commitment to Egypt’s development, emphasizing the two country’s shared deep-rooted political, cultural and economic relations, which have recently witnessed great momentum. The two discussed Egypt-France’s strong bilateral relations and their diverse cooperation portfolio that cuts across several sectors.

France is one of Egypt’s most important trading partners, with investments amounting to  US$6.7 billion from 650 French companies in the Egyptian market.

Total ongoing portfolio of cooperation between Egypt and France amounts to €1 billion across several sectors, including transport, electricity, small and medium enterprises, housing, agriculture, health and the environment.
