Rwanda has been expanding greenhouses to increase the output of flowers.
Motivated by the rising exports of flowers, and to reach out to more markets, Rwandan florists were in the Netherlands to participate in the International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF) in Vijfhuizen, Netherlands from Nov 3-5.
Speaking about the participation, Jeanine Kayihura from Bella Flowers, said that the objective of Rwanda’s participation is to demonstrate its potential in the global flower business. Through the IFTF, the Rwandan delegation targets to create international market linkages between Rwandan roses’ producers and international buyers. The participation was facilitated by the Embassy of Rwanda in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB).
Adding that this will be an opportunity for Rwandan delegates to gain knowledge about the latest developments in the industry and how to deal with the sector’s pressing issues.
