The gold exploration company,  Akobo Minerals is working along the Akobo river in southwestern Ethiopia has awarded the metallurgical test work contract at its Segele project to Peacocke and Simpson, a  Zimbabwean mineral processing company. The company is gearing up to start mining at the project and   conducting a series of tests to find the extent of gold deposits.

Since the nature of gold deposits varies from area to area,  it calls for a careful selection of extraction equipment for each deposit.  A bulk sample of over 200 kg containing abundant visible gold from three new drill holes has been sent for the gold metallurgical test work at Peacocke and Simpson’s laboratory. The plant design will start once the company receives the test results.

The company officials maintained that they are very positive about the results of the scoping study and the pre-feasibility study and hoped that it would give a very solid footing on which to predict cash flow.
