The Ghanian Parliament has approved visa-free deal between Ghana and UAE. The Visa Waiver Agreement for diplomatic, service/special and ordinary passport holders will facilitate travel between the two nations.
The agreement follows the adoption of the Foreign Affairs Committee Report on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ghana and the UAE .The agreement also enables Ghanaians to stay in the Emirate for not more than 90 days.The deal includes a structured visa regime for both countries and gives freedom for both sides to restrict entry of people who are considered to be of questionable character. The relaxed entry requirements is expected to enhance bilateral relations, trade and co-operation,
The MoU primarily benefits holders of diplomatic and other official passports categories that are easy to manage as the holders are often public officials within the purview of the public and state security apparatus.
