Egypt has signed 12 development finance agreements with Germany during the first half of 2021, revealed Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Minister Rania el Mashaat.
These agreements together are worth Euro 197 million. These agreements were for implementing  development projects in the fields of energy and vocational training, and to encourage participation of the private sector and empower women.
Among them are two deals under which Berlin should offer Cairo a grant worth Euro 57.5 million to fund ventures in the fields of energy, technical education, vocational training, administrative reform and sanitation.
These projects will help achieve the sustainable development goals, including good education, gender equality, suitable jobs, industry and infrastructure,
Ten other contracts have been signed with the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ). They  are  in the form of grants. Of that Euro  4 million to be offered to the Sports Ministry, Euro 14 million to be offered to the Trade and Industry Ministry, and Euro 8 million to build institutional potentials. Three other grants worth Euro 14.5 million ,Euro 14.9 million and  Euro 16 million will be offered to the Education Ministry.
