Egypt  plans to use the country’s robust ICT sector as a springboard for its broader digital transformation drive in the aftermath of Covid-19 pandemic, according to

The Oxford Business Group (OBG).

The report  captures Egypt’s response to the pandemic and vision for longer-term, sustainable growth, focusing on key data relating to the socio-economic landscape. The report billed as the Digital Egypt plan captures national efforts to encourage innovation and create a more digital society. It also highlights the need for up-skilling, job creation, infrastructure upgrades and the adoption of e-government services.

This led to a  pandemic-induced demand for telecoms services as business and social interactions moved online.  Egypt is planning to prioritize digital inclusion by establishing several new technology parks. The key role that these facilities will play in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship by providing training facilities, hardware design labs, incubators and shared workspace are also mentioned in the report including several success stories and case studies.
