Ryanair to limit its operations to Morocco only in Africa

·        Ryanair has no immediate plans to expand its operations beyond Morocco in the near future , according to the airline’s CEO Wilson, while speaking at one of the CAPA live events.

·        According to him, Moroccan market is sufficient now since Ryanair has grown steadily and is now transporting 5 million passengers a year to and from Morocco.

·        Recently, the airline announced the opening of a new base in Morocco, which is incidentally the third base in the country –Agadir-a coastal city.

Ryanair has no immediate plans to expand its operations beyond Morocco in the near future , according to the airline’s CEO Wilson, while speaking at one of the CAPA live events. According to him, Moroccan market is sufficient now since  Ryanair has grown steadily and is now transporting 5 million passengers a year to and from Morocco. Recently, the airline announced the opening of a new base in Morocco, which is incidentally the third base in the country –Agadir-a coastal city. .

When Ryanair launched its operations from Morocco in 2006, the airline had only 48 flights from the country in a month. Now, it has grown substantially to 1115 flights per month.

When it started, the  had serviced only two cities –Fes and Marrakesh- now it flies to 11 cities in the North African country,
including Rabat, Casablanca, Agadir and Nador. Flight to Agadir will commence from November this year and it will connect a number of European cities including Frankfurt, Vienna, Dusseldorf and six Spanish cities including Barcelona and Madrid.
