Russian Minister of Trade and Commerce Denis Manturov said his country was interested in launching vehicles manufacturing projects in Egypt. This interest he conveyed at a meeting of the Egyptian-Russian Governmental Committee.
Russia is keen to expand its automobile production to Africa, where it assessed would have large markets for the Russian vehicles. To begin with, the Russians are keen to set up assembly units in the Egypt, which can be later transformed into full scale manufacturing units.
Importantly, Cairo and Moscow are discussing joint projects in the fields of building vessels, quays, manufacturing of locomotives as well as fishing vessels.
