Zimbabwe to be represented by foreign minister at SADC meeting

·     Foreign Affairs and International Trade acting minister Amon Murirwa  will  lead the Zimbabwe’s delegation to  the  Extraordinary SADC  council of ministers meeting in Maputo, Mozambique

·     The bloc’s ministers, among other things,  will  discuss  the progress on the recruitment of the next SADC Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary, update on the Covid-19 situation in the region, regional integration and continental and international co-operation issues

Foreign Affairs and International Trade acting minister Amon Murirwa will  lead Zimbabwe’s delegation to  the  Extraordinary SADC  council of ministers meeting in Maputo, Mozambique.

The bloc’s ministers, among other things,  will  discuss  the progress on the recruitment of the next SADC Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary, update on the Covid-19 situation in the region, regional integration and continental and international co-operation issues.

Importantly, SADC will evolve the blueprint for a disaster risk management response and review the preparedness of SADC’s institutional arrangements. At the meeting, Zimbabwe will be showcasing the country’s investment potentials in various segments, particularly its integration agenda with African Continental Free trade Area (AfCFTA)
