Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with the French Minister of Economy and Finance in Paris and discussed the efforts being made to boost bilateral trade and investments. The president was in Paris in connection with the Paris club meeting being hosted by French President Macron in Paris, where a number of important decisions were taken on issues relating to Africa including making available Covid-19 vaccines in adequate numbers in the continent.
President Sisi highlighted the investment incentives and advantages while investing in Egypt and apprised the French minister of the huge investment opportunities for the French business sector in the national projects. The possible areas for investment flagged by the Egyptian President included transport, energy, water and health sectors.
The President also called on the French industry to localize the production availing the liberal incentives and geographical advantage of the country. He also pitched for transfer of technology in all joint ventures with French side. Some of the French companies are keen to enhance their footprint in Egypt because of its geographical advantage and connectivity with Africa and Arab world.
