Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum touched down in the Chadian capital N’Djamena yesterday to attend the funeral of the late Chadian president Idriss Déby. Déby died after sustaining injuries on the front lines against rebels. The late Chadian President’s funeral ceremony is being held today (April 23), at the Place de la Nation in the capital.
The procession will then move to the Grand Mosque in N’Djamena before the mortal remains are taken to Amdjarass city for burial. Alpha Condé, the Guinean head of state has already reached the capital city for the funeral. Mali’s interim president Bah Ndaw is also in N’Djamena. More heads of states are expected to take part in the funeral.
