Headquartered in Rotterdam, NileDutch it has employees worldwide with particular expertise in the African market.In Africa, It has offices in Angola, Congo and Cameroon.
Speaking about the agreement, Rolf Habben Jansen, CEO of Hapag-Lloyd said that his the company regarded Africa as a strategic growth market and the acquisition of NileDutch will strengthen its position in West Africa as well as its existing activities on the continent. He hoped that their combined customer base will gain from a diverse network and more frequent sailings from and to Africa. Wim van Aalst, President of NileDutch, remarked that joining hands with Hapag-Lloyd will enable them to further expand and develop the Africa business.
