·       Africa Oil & Power (AOP) will host Francophone African government delegations and European financiers at the first AOP Investor Forum to be held in Paris in June 16-18 2021.

·       The goal of the Forum is to facilitate major collaborations between European investors and African companies and governments and promote synergy between petroleum and renewable energy actors.

With Oil and gas playing a central role in Africa’s energy mix and economic expansion, The Forum aims to balance African development needs, climate goals and drive Africa’s economic growth post-COVID.The expected participants from Africa in the forum will include economies like Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire,Niger, Mozambique ,Nigeria, Angola, Equatorial Guinea ,Gabon ,Uganda ,.South Sudan and Ghana.

Speaking about the forum, AOP’s Managing Director Renée Montez-Avinir remarked that Energy being the cornerstone of Africa’s re-emergence from COVID it is time for African companies and governments to look again at their European partnerships and to push forward with deals that power their economies.  He pointed out that the energy transition, and the future funding of African oil and gas projects, and Europe’s role in African investment going forward, will be at the centre of the discussions at the Paris investor forum.
