Egypt Government has authorized the use of the vaccine developed by the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm against Covid-19. The first batch of 50,000 doses was delivered in December. Egypt will receive the second order of the same quantity by the end of January.
According to Sinopharm, its vaccine, is 79% effective. The Vaccine distributed in China and developing countries, is said to be lower in effectiveness compared to the American-German vaccine Pfizer / BioNTech (95%) and that of the American biotechnology company Moderna (94.1%). Britain’s AstraZeneca, has claimed an effectiveness rate of 70%, but could be100% effective with two doses.
