The European Business Group (EUBG) representing traders and investors from European countries in Tanzania and Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) have signed a deal to promote business development and investment in Tanzania. The Memorandum of Understanding signed on December 3, will recommend and identify key areas of collaboration including research, investment promotion, and policy advocacy.
Acting chairperson of TPSF board Ms Angelina Ngalula disclosed that as per the agreement, the EUBG will extend technical support to TPSF in areas such as research, studies, technical know-how, business strategy and business development. TPSF on its part will provide insights and share empiric experience on business investment and advocacy in the country.
The collaboration is expected to bring direction to advocacy and business-related activities in Tanzania, particularly with the government ministries, departments and regulatory authorities, she added.
The board chairman of EUBG Mr Hans Lemm revealed that EUBG will develop research projects to outline positive interventions to enhance the business environment in Tanzania. Research areas identified include tax administration, labour and employment legislation, investment promotion, implementation of the Blueprint and its impact on business and investment climate, he added.
