Morocco’s export association, ASMEX, has signed an agreement with Center for Standardization and Certification under the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Development Fund to explore the market for Moroccan halal products in Russia.
According to reports, the deal was signed to tap the opportunities for the product in the context of the covid-19 pandemic. ASMEX President, Hassan Sentissi said that consumer habits and the requirements for healthy and hygienic consumption imposed by the health crisis has offered good opportunities for Halal certified products that are considered to be of higher quality with safer production standards for health in addition to its geographical and cultural advantage.
As part of its strategy, ASMEX has embarked on a major drive to promote Moroccan halal products. As part of the campaign, It has set up Halal export Club for identifying potential markets for Moroccan halal products and assisting in their international certification.
