Egypt’s exports pick up in 2019

·        Egypt has registered appreciable growth in exports in 2019, when it (exports) had gone up to US$30.5 billion as against US$ 29.3 billion in 2018, an increase of 4.1%

·        The US ranked as the most important export destination accounting for about 7.2% of the total exports and  in absolute terms Egypt has exported US$2.2 billion in 2019 compared to US$ US$ 1.7 billion a year ago

·         The next destination in importance was UAE (US$ 2 Billion) followed by , Turkey (US$1.7 billion) and Saudi Arabia ( US$ 1,4 billion)

Egypt has registered appreciable growth in exports in 2019, when it (exports) had gone up to US$30.5 billion as against US$ 29.3 billion in 2018, an increase of 4.1%. The data was released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in the Annual Bulletin for foreign trade 2019.

Importantly, the total export value of non-petroleum products was at US$ 25.5 billion in 2019 as compared to US$ 24.6 billion a year ago, which is an increase of 3.9%. The total value of petroleum products and electricity has increased by 5.3% to reach US$ 5 billion in 2019 as against US$ 4.7 billion a year ago.  The total value of manufacturing exports accounted for 43.2% of the country’s total exports. The value of finished goods export was US$13.9 billion in 2019 as against US$13.24 billion in 2018, a shade lower.

The US ranked as the most important export destination accounting for about 7.2% of the total exports. In absolute terms Egypt has exported US$2.2 billion in 2019 compared to US$ US$ 1.7 billion a year ago to the US. The next destination in importance was UAE (US$ 2 Billion) followed by  Turkey (US$1.7 billion) and Saudi Arabia ( US$ 1,4 billion)
