This was announced by The office of the Gambian President Adama Barrow. The decision was taken after consulting health officials and others.
The Gambia, a former British colony depends on tourism for its employment and revenue flows. Tourism sector has been severely hit, which in turn has affected the revenue flows to the country. The Gambia officially registered 3,644 coronavirus cases and 118 deaths. The World Bank has warned that virus-related restrictions could cause a severe economic contraction in the poor country.
