·        The Foschini Group (TFG) of South Africa is committed to offset the effects of the pandemic through initiatives including revamping local manufacturing

The objective is to create shorter lead times through the use of innovative production processes, lean manufacturing principles, IT systems and digitization allowing a move away from the traditional 150 to 180 day international supply chain lead time to 42 days on average when locally produced

The retailer feels that by sourcing locally manufactured goods, it can make a dent on the economy than with imported goods, since it will create a number of gainful employment and income to the people.
