Ethiopian Customs Commission to become paperless

·        The Ethiopian Customs Commission (ECC) said it is planning to go paperless by deploying digital electronic service in a bid to give fast and up-to-date services

·        The ECC is finalizing preparations to launch the e-system for the Ethiopian New Year that fell on September 11.  The Commission has implemented various reform measures to provide better service and to ensure ingenuity and accountability among its employees

The Ethiopian Customs Commission (ECC) said it is planning to go paperless by deploying  digital electronic service in a bid to give fast and up-to-date services.

The ECC is finalizing preparations to launch the e-system for the Ethiopian New Year that fell on September 11.  The Commission has implemented various reform measures to provide better service and to ensure ingenuity and accountability among its employees.

In the meantime, Ethiopian government has said that five percent shares of Ethiopia’s sole telecom services, Ethio Telecom, are to be sold to the Ethiopian citizens.   It has earlier in May taken a decision to sell a 40 percent stake to international companies.. The decision to sell five percent of the stakes of Ethio Telecom   was taken by the Ethiopian government officials and stakeholders who discussed activities being carried out to improve Ethiopia’s telecom sector.
