The 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF)—commonly known as “SabaSaba”—is scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 13, 2025, at the Mwalimu Nyerere Fair Grounds in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This annual event, organised by the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), is the country’s premier multi-sectoral exhibition and serves as a strategic meeting point for businesses and stakeholders from across the globe.

Established in 1976, DITF has grown into one of the most significant trade fairs in East and Southern Africa, acting as a critical hub for promoting regional trade and investment. Leveraging the logistical strengths of the Port of Dar es Salaam, the fair facilitates easier access to neighbouring landlocked countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The 2025 edition is projected to draw a record number of over 4,181 exhibitors, including 395 international participants—anticipated to rise to 501 international exhibitors. In total, the event is expected to attract around 385,500 visitors, further underscoring its importance as a major economic and cultural occasion. Delegates and exhibitors will represent more than 25 countries. This cross-sectoral representation enables both local and international participants to discover new markets, build partnerships, and access cutting-edge innovations and technologies.

According to TanTrade Director General Latifa Khamis, this year’s theme— “Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair ‘SabaSaba’, Pride of Tanzania—emphasises not only business and trade but also a vibrant, inclusive festival experience that appeals to the general public. “The fair aims to provide an opportunity for local and international businessmen to meet, exchange experiences, find markets and learn new technologies,” said Khamis during a recent press conference.

With the combination of professional networking and public engagement, DITF 2025 is positioned as more than just a business fair—it is a celebration of Tanzanian industry, innovation, and international cooperation.

The success of the 48th edition in 2024, which featured 3,954 exhibitors from 28 countries and was attended by over 353,461 visitors, sets a strong foundation for this year’s expanded participation and activities. With increasing global interest and growing regional relevance, the 49th DITF is expected to exceed expectations in terms of both scale and impact, reinforcing its role as a catalyst for sustainable economic development in the region.
