143 exhibitors representing 45 countries are due to take part in the 5th edition of the Angola Oil & Gas International Conference on October 2 and 3 in Luanda. With the theme “Boosting exploration and development to increase production in Angola”, the event will see an increase of ten participating countries.
The main aim of the event is to boost the country’s energy future and strengthen global partnerships, with the aim to attract more investment for projects, unlock opportunities, boost sustainable development and create jobs. It will include a seminar with experts, as well as a panel dedicated to business in Angola. This will eventually stimulate transformations in Angola’s energy sector and be a crucial meeting for global leaders in the oil and gas industry
Over two days, more than 60 figures, including international leaders and players in the oil industry, will exchange experiences in an environment involving entrepreneurs, executives, investors, academics, and policymakers. According to the organizers, the event will allow policymakers to present their governments’ strengths in the oil and gas field to help promote and facilitate innovative, creative, and collaborative business opportunities.
The 5th conference is expected to have delegations from China, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Portugal, and Brazil, offering Angolan companies a unique opportunity to form global partnerships. It is organized by Energy Capital & Power, in partnership with the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas. The oil and gas sector is the main engine of the Angolan economy, accounting for 34% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 96% of exports and 56% of tax revenue.

Angola is the second largest oil producer in sub-Saharan Africa and a global LNG exporter. With recoverable reserves estimated at 57 billion barrels of oil and 27 trillion cubic feet of gas, as well as daily production of 1.073 million barrels of oil and 2.7 million cubic feet of associated gas, Angola maintains a strategic position in the global energy market.
