Libya -South Korea centre to emerge as a hub of innovation to create green jobs

The President of the Audit Bureau of Libya,  Khaled Shakshak, met recently the South Korean Ambassador, Lee Sang-soo, and the economic attache at the embassy in Libya, and held discussions for strengthening the bilateral economic partnership.  

The President of the Audit Bureau of Libya, Khaled Shakshak, met recently the South Korean Ambassador, Lee Sang-soo, and the economic attache at the embassy in Libya, and held discussions for strengthening the bilateral economic partnership.

Among the points, both discussed included implementing the obligations of Korean companies in favour of the Libyan state and setting up the necessary mechanism and procedures towards the speedy implementation of obligations given by South Korean companies.

Shakshak stressed during the meeting the importance of cooperation and partnership between the countries of Libya and Korea in many fields including energy, which could be a win-win situation for both countries.

Through generous funding from the Republic of Korea, UNDP is strengthening the Libyan Korean Centre in Tripoli under the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation. This is a unique advanced vocational training centre for professionals supporting the reconstruction and economic resilience of Libya aiming to transform the centre into a technical innovation hub focusing on green job opportunities.
