According to the report, the overall index recorded 116.16 in February 2025, down from 116.76 in January 2025 (final), reflecting a 0.5% decline. Despite the overall drop, some sectors showed strong performance. The index for paper and paper products increased to 70.58 in February, up from 65.36 in January, a 7.99% rise driven by market demand.
The Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) of Egypt released preliminary data for Egypt’s industrial production index of manufacturing and extractive industries (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) for February 2025.

Similarly, the textile industry saw its index grow from 149.71 in January to 155.31 in February, marking a 3.74% increase. In contrast, other industries experienced notable declines. The electrical equipment industry fell sharply by 10.96%, with its index dropping to 78.47 in February from 88.13 in January, attributed to supply and demand factors.
